| Here is one of my favorite scenes in Tod Browning's film "Freaks" (1932): Strong man Hercules and friends are playing cards while Cleo looks on. They deliberately try to provoke Hans (played by Harry Doll) by making fun of his affections for Cleo. Hans, unwilling to put up with it anymore, flies into a tirade - in his native German tongue! Though intended to be a dramatic scene, it cracks me up everytime! I had always wondered what Harry said till I purchased a script of the movie. | |||||||||
