GEORGE  PRISE

The photo of George above, taken from Durant's "Pictorial History of the American Circus" has at times been misidentified as ossified man Jonathan Bass because of a misreading of a paragraph in that book. But the photo to the right verifies the performers correct identification

Another performer (?) with a condition similar to George's was John Kenye.  Looks like he's holding a cigar. Apparently his legs were so atrophied that his feet couldn't touch the ground when seated on a normal-sized chair  - hence the floor pillow.
