| Many show business little people were known to have over-sized tempers but Paulina was described as "very gentle and sweet in disposition and manners". When she died, six sisters and two brothers were still living. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| A MIDGET DEAD Princess Paulina. Weight 8 1/2 Pounds, Height 17 Inches. Aged 19 Years New York, Feb 16 - Princess Paulina died Friday morning of pneumonia. She was one of the smallest of midgets, weighing but 8½ pounds, and being but 17 inches in height, although her nineteenth birthday would have come on the 26th of this month. She was born at Ossendrech, Holland and, as in the case of most midgets, the members of her family were not remarkable for their size. For nine years she had exhibited in the principal cities of Europe. Her performance consisted of a monologue, in which she showed herself to be familiar with a half dozen languages, though English was almost beyond her. Then she did one or two dances, and her tiny figure as engaged in the Scotch sword dance was a sight that will be remembered by all who saw her. Hamilton(Ohio)Daily Republican, The 16 Feb 1895 |
