| "The fourth member of the half-ton club is another American, Michael Walker, who checks in at 1,110 lbs. Born in 1934 in Texas, Michael has been unable to move since 1967, and spends his nights and days on a huge bed in the middle of a trailer, two sides of which are made of glass. When summer approaches, he goes out on the road with this or that travelling circus, returning to Gibstown, Florida, to spend the winter. Walker's condition is due to serious psychological disorders triggered during combat in the Korean War." ---- "Human Oddities: A Book of Nature's Anomalies" by Monestier |
