ELIZABETH  LYSKA
Normally, on this website, I don't include adolescents who were exhibited.  I much prefer to know the decisions people made about the show business as adults.  But for Elizabeth, I'll make an exception.
This young lady was born Elisaveta Philipoona in Russian Poland around 1878.  When her Dad died, Elizabeth agreed to go on exhibition to aid in the support of herself, her mother and her five brothers and sisters.  She was only eleven years old but had been getting attention because she was already six feet high.
The year was 1889.  Elizabeth was so heavily advertised in her appearances in the cities of the German Empire that sometimes she is referred to as if she were from the Deutschland and at times was even known as the "Austrian Giantess".
Apparently, the idea was for the young Russian girl to exhibit about a year, earn lots of money, and then quickly get out of the business. But she was seen again in London in 1893 indicating the plan was not perfect. After that she is heard of no more.
