THE ARMLESS RISQUE
No doubt, because of the similarity in spelling, some sources believed she was from France!
Frances Belle O'Connor was born in 1914 in Sheridan, Wyoming and began exhibiting herself and her abilities with the Sells-Floto Circus at the tender age of eight. Frances was in the business over 20 years appearing with various travelling shows including the circuses of Cole Bros., Hagenbeck-Wallace and Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey.  As a teenager in 1931 she had a small role in the Tod Browning movie "Freaks" but certainly did not appear for the money as by then she had amassed a small fortune which included a sizable ranch in Monarch (Wyoming). As evidenced by some of her pitchcards Frances unabashedly used the "ogle factor" of her male patrons to turn the tip, a pretty bold move in those days. Frances died in Long Beach, CA in 1982 at age 67.

Possibly also known as Peggy O'Connor in the 1920's
Some say she was known or billed as the "Living Venus de Milo"
